insomnia

It is quite common for a pregnant woman to have trouble sleeping, and there may be many reasons for this. It's hard to get relaxed enough to drop off when your thoughts are racing, and this often occurs when you're excited about giving birth. As hormones change, they may affect the brain centers responsible for deep relaxation. Finally, it's hard to find a comfortable position in which to sleep when your belly is in the way and your child is very active.

Symptoms: either an inability to fall asleep, a propensity to wake in the middle of the night (usually triggered by a need to urinate or leg cramps), or early waking, with an inability to drop off again.

You may find that sleep is harder at night and easier during the day. Although may be a problem for some women as the pregnancy proceeds, extreme tiredness during the day may force you into napping. It's a good idea to try to get eight hours, no matter how they're divided up.

Treatment:

NUTRITION: Warm milk (which contains the amino acid tryptophan) before bed. Be sure you finish your final meal of the day by 7 P.M. so that your body won't be digesting while you sleep.

SUPPLEMENTATION: Take your prenatal vitamin or the following supplements daily:
Vitamin A: 5,000 IU Vitamin B6: 2.2 mg
Vitamin Bi: 1.5 mg
Vitamin B12: 2.2 mcg
Vitamin B2: 1.6 mg
Folic acid: 800 mcg
Vitamin B3: 17 mg
Vitamin C: 500-1,000 mg
Vitamin D: 400 IU
Vitamin E: 400 IU
Vitamin K: 65 mcg
Calcium: 1,200 mg
Magnesium: 500 mg
Iron: 30 mg
Phosphorus: 1,200 mg
Iodine: 175 mcg
Selenium: 65 mcg

In addition, take calcium, 500-1,000 mg, at bedtime.

HERBS: Chamomile tea, sleepy time tea, hops tea and also sleeping on a pillow stuffed with hops. (You can make your own by sewing two handkerchiefs together with a handful of hops inside them.)

HOMEOPATHY: You can try any one of the combination remedies available in health food stores, sold as "" preparations. You may also try one dose of a 6C or 30C potency that matches your symptom picture every 15 to 30 minutes three times, then one to four times daily, following the instructions on the bottle or tube. If you find no relief from your symptoms, this is not the appropriate remedy for your condition. Examine yourself carefully, check the list again, and select a different remedy. If you still find no relief, consult with a homeopathic practitioner for further direction.

Aconite: sleepless and restless, anxious dreams, startles in sleep.
Coffea: wakeful, sleeps until 3 A.M., then only dozes. Great flow of ideas, mental activity.
Nux vomica: can't sleep at all after 3 A.M., awakes feeling awful. Dreams full of hurry. Better after short sleep.
Pulsatilla: wide awake in evening, sleep restless at first, wakes feeling unrefreshed. Sleeps with hands over head.
Sulphur: talks and twitches in sleep, vivid dreams, frequent awakening. Can't sleep between 2 A.M. and 5 A.M..

LIFESTYLE: Make sure your bedroom is dark and quiet with good ventilation and fresh air. Use as many pillows as necessary for support around your belly.
If unable to sleep, get up and read.

MIND/BoDY: Meditation and breathing techniques such as three- stage breathing (yoga) and chi kung breathing (tai chi chuan) can relax mind and body even if you cannot actually fall asleep.

VISUALIZATION: Lie down in a darkened room on a flat surface. Cover yourself lightly in case you should fall asleep during the visualization. Begin by breathing slowly and gently, feeling the rhythm of the breath take over your body and mind. As you inhale and exhale, picture yourself in some surrounding where you have always felt secure and happy—a mountaintop at dusk or a sunny day by a lake or sitting by a fireplace on a snowy night. See yourself in this setting, looking out at the natural landscape, feeling at peace. You have nowhere to go, nothing to do.
Now think about your limbs and how heavy and relaxed they are. First focus on your right leg—it is warm, heavy and free of tension. Then your right arm—so heavy you could not lift it if you tried. Turn your attention to the left side of your body. Your left leg is heavy and relaxed, sinking deeply into the floor. Your left arm, like the rest of your body and mind, is totally comfortable just where it is.

Let the thoughts that come to you drift by like leaves on a pond. Let yourself sink and drift away. You are drowsy, ready for sleep. You are completely relaxed.

Alternative treatments for warts

Warts are unsightly skin growths caused by the highly contagious human papillomavirus. You can catch the virus by direct contact with someone who has warts, or by touching an infected surface. However, not everyone who comes into contact with the virus develops warts, as they are related to the status of your immune system.

The conventional treatment of warts involves either cutting them out, applying chemicals or freezing them off with liquid nitrogen. But, even if these methods are successful, the warts are likely to grow back. In addition, many of these treatments come with nasty side effects.

Aldara cream for example, can cause redness, itching and bacterial infections, while using liquid nitrogen – besides being painful – can lead to scarring. Some therapies can even cause systemic side effects such as Raynaud’s phenomenon (painful, cold extremities) and flu –like symptoms.

There are a number of :-

Fig tree latex. This comes from the leaves, stems and fruit of the fig tree and has traditionally been used for warts. It has proved to be nearly as effective as liquid nitrogen treatments but without the side effects. However, avoid this remedy if you are allergic to latex.

Garlic. This is another successful remedy for warts. In a small trial of five year old children, rubbing raw garlic directly onto the warts proved to be 100 percent effective, although it took an average of nine weeks to work. Cut a clove of garlic in half and rub the flat surface over the wart, taking care not to touch healthy skin. Cover with a plaster overnight and wash away in the morning: repeat every day with a fresh clove.

Tea tree oil. This and the fresh, milky juice from the greater celadine are other topical treatments with evidence of success in removing warts.

Hypnosis. Strange as it may seem, hypnosis is a well recognised treatment for warts. In one study, those who underwent regular hypnosis sessions saw greater wart disappearance after six weeks than those using a medication (topical salicylic acid), a placebo or no treatment. The power of suggestion is particularly effective in children. German researchers found that ‘treating’ children with fake x-rays led to complete remission of warts in about half the cases.

Heat Therapy. In one comparative controlled trial, the application of short bursts of heat (50 degrees C) from a heat pad led to complete regression in 25 of 29 treated warts, compared with only 7 of 17 of the control warts. Even better, at a follow up fifteen weeks later, none of the heat regressed warts had returned.

Zinc supplements. In a double blind study of 80 patients with treatment resistant warts, high doses of oral zinc sulphate were able to clear around 90 percent of warts in two months, whereas none of those treated with a placebo showed any signs of improvement.

Duct tape. Covering warts with duct tape, or any strong sticky tape, appears to be an effective way of getting rid of them. In a trial of 51 patients comparing duct tape with liquid nitrogen treatment, the sticky tape came out on top. And, it did so within a month.

How do you stop warts from spreading?

1) Don’t brush, comb or shave areas that have warts.
2) Don’t use the same nail file or nail clipper on your warts as you use on your healthy nails.
3) Don’t bite your nails if you have any warts nearby.
4) Don’t pick at warts – if you can’t resist it, cover them up with a plaster or duct tape.
5) Keep your hands dry, as warts favour a moist environment.
6) Always wash your hands after touching your warts.

It is most common in women between the ages of thirty and sixty, but it can affect anyone at any time.

What does ginseng do?

Do you feel tired? Stressed-out? Are you often overwhelmed by the many demands upon
your time and your energy? If your answer to these questions are yes, then you are not alone. Most Americans go through periods of exhaustion, tension, and even burn-out, as they attempt to juggle numerous complicated commitments, including family, work, and recreation. The stressful struggle to balance the components of life in an increasingly complex world often contributes to health problems. Indeed, it would be fair to say that stress has reached epidemic proportions in the Western world and is responsible for some debilitating illnesses, as well as many chronic, nagging health problems.

It is exactly for such health problems that we must turn to natural herbal remedies. These products are excellent for those daily life situations in which we find ourselves not sick, but not healthy either. And where tiredness and stress are concerned, there is one remedy that stands out: ginseng. Ginseng is so effective that I am fond of calling it "the root of power."

Ginseng is probably the best known of all Oriental herbs. Millions of people all over the world take it daily to boost their energy, vitality, and performance or in special situations such as convalescence, aging, and recovery. It has become the main tonic herb in the West, just as it was in the East for thousands of years. It is available in most pharmacies and has now been included in many of the official drug guides of European countries.

In All About Ginseng, you will meet this root, known scientifically as Panax ginseng. Your imagination and sense of mystery will be tickled, because the ginseng root is shaped like a human being. Perhaps because of its interesting and human shape, there is a great deal of legend, folklore, and superstition associated with ginseng—as well as a great deal of misunderstanding. But there is nothing fanciful or superstitious about the effectiveness of this extraordinary herb. Scientific research— some of which I have personally conducted—provides ample support to the claim that ginseng is a powerful and useful herb to combat stress and fatigue, to maximize stamina, and to build strength.

This page will answer your most basic questions about ginseng. You will discover what it really is, what it contains, and where it comes from. We will address and dispel misunderstandings and myths surrounding ginseng, and explain what it can and cannot do to improve your health and vitality. You will learn how to use ginseng to combat fatigue and improve performance, and why ginseng is a more healthful and effective substance than other stimulants or body-builders that you might have taken in the past. You'll learn how to use ginseng in demanding situations such as sports, examinations, jet lag, insufficient sleep, and when you are feeling low. You'll find out if ginseng really is an aphrodisiac, as many people have claimed.

By the time you have finished reading this book, you will realize that you have a powerful and potent ally to help you through life's stresses so that instead of feeling exhausted and overwhelmed, you feel alert, energetic, strong, and capable of meeting your many commitments successfully and in good health.

Q. Ginseng plant identification
A. Ginseng is a unique herb that is regarded in Eastern medicine as the most precious of all traditional remedies. Its popularity is no longer confined to the Orient. Indeed, it has become quite popular in the West as well. It can give you extra energy and vitality, particularly in many situations of stress and exhaustion.

Ginseng has both short-term and long-term uses. On a short-term basis, you can use ginseng as a rapid and safe stimulant if you've had a sleepless night, if you must cope with an unusually heavy work load, if you're a student facing final exams, if you're suffering from jet lag, or if you wish to improve your performance during an important sports game. Ginseng can also be used to address long-term problems—for example, in recovering from periods of stress and burn-out, in convalescence, in intensive sports training, and in generally remaining alert if you know you are going through an extended period of high stress accompanied by many physical or emotional demands. Ginseng can improve your sexual performance. It is not an aphrodisiac, in the sense of being a sexual stimulant; however it can help to maintain sexual energy and may also help in cases of impotence.

Q. Why take ginseng when I'm tired if I can drink coffee? What is ginseng good for?
A. Ginseng isn't just a stimulant. It is a tonic—in fact, it is probably the only true tonic available today. Ginseng works differently from caffeine. It does not produce instant wakefulness which is paid for by even more exhaustion later. Its real value is that it increases vitality and performance, while at the same time improving your health. Caffeine, on the other hand, cannot truly increase vitality and help you overcome stress, exhaustion, or burn-out. It is a "quick-fix" remedy that comes with a very heavy price tag once its immediate effects have worn off.
Ginseng does more than simply helping you cope with tiredness, as caffeine does. It can also help your body cope with almost every other kind of stress. A large number of scientific studies have confirmed that ginseng can prevent the harmful effects of stress on your body. If you are under continuous stress, or you drive yourself too hard and don't make time for relaxation, the continuous state of inner tension can increase blood pressure and cholesterol, and damage your immunity and your health. Ginseng can help you to prevent these changes. It can protect your immunity and shield your general inner balance from stress-related damage. It is also an excellent anti-aging remedy that can be taken regularly to help prevent the decline in energy and vitality that so often accompanies the aging process.

Q. Can ginseng actually cure any diseases?
A. Ginseng is not a drug like penicillin, for example, that treats a specific disease. It addresses certain symptoms, such as fatigue and weakness, but it is more helpful in building health and vitality, and in helping the body cope with stress and tiredness, both of which take a serious toll on the immune system.

Q. So what exactly is ginseng? Ginseng side effects.
A. Ginseng is the root of a small herb. Its botanical, or scientific name is Panax ginseng. Botanists gave it the name "Panax," which is Latin for "panacea," because the Oriental peoples regard it as a panacea, or a cure-all. "Ginseng" comes from the Chinese word for "root of man".
Ginseng belongs to the small family called the Araliaceae, which includes sarsaparilla and ivy. For such a famous plant, it looks remarkably humble. It has groups of five saw-toothed leaves atop a long, straight stalk, which may be about eight to thirty inches tall, depending on age. Its pale green flowers begin to appear only when the plant is two or three years old. These produce bright red berries, well- liked by people and birds. Ginseng grows in the shade in cold climates, and the above-ground parts die off every winter. New growth starts from buds on the "neck" of the root every spring.

The medicinal part of ginseng is the thick, fleshy root. It is somewhat like a carrot but yellow, not orange. It has many tendrils and rootlets, and may sometimes be branched, curled, or bent. The fresh root tastes somewhat bitter, with a hint of aromatic sweetness.
Asian ginseng once grew naturally in the shaded high temperate forests of China, Korea, Japan, and the Eastern part of the former USSR, but it is now virtually extinct in its wild state. However, cultivation has spread the domesticated ginseng to many other areas in Eastern Asia. Although the Chinese undoubtedly value the wild ginseng above any other plant, they regard even the cultivated variety as their most important medicine.

Cures for Insomnia

The refreshing sleep performs important functions for our mind and body. However, there are people for whom bedtime is far from being a pleasant and refreshing experience it becomes a daily struggle with insomnia and other sleep problems. Millions of people can not enjoy a full day, alert and productive because they could not sleep last night.

In 1959, Peter Tripp, a New York broadcaster, decided to stay awake as long as he could. After four sleepless nights began to have trouble remembering the alphabet, then began to hallucinate. He saw their shoes full of cobwebs, bugs on their desk and even a rabbit non-existent in the corner. Your mental concentration is affected and became paranoid; believing that their co-workers like doctors and nurses who kept his health conspired to harm him. The most interesting is that despite everything, every night Tripp for three hours I could get rid of your paranoia, hallucinations and lack of concentration, to convey his radio program. Tripp During this time struck the hour, commercial read, conversed with the audience and gave the report of time in an apparently normal. Although, as we have seen, in their daily conduct Tripp showed signs of a serious mental disturbance, somehow managed to overcome at times just enough time to do their duty. Just before the transmission the last program did during that period Tripp suffered a panic attack. Thinking that the doctor came to bury him alive began to scream and attack anyone who find in between. But the hour of his program became calm and achievements do the same without any of those listening would suspect that the condition was. After that Tripp left her marathon program and eventually retired.

Although not as dramatic, many people who do not sleep enough are somehow acting as Tripp. When you need something we do not sleep in our mind is affected and continues to function even if it costs us more and more work. The American writer Vince Raus as he says about for years suffered from a problem of insomnia:

I wake up sore and tired to spend the day with the brain fog. It takes me at least three attempts on you can dial a long distance number. I forget the names of the people. Eat coffee trays. And I look like hell.

According to statistics from the National Center for Research on Sleep Disorders in the U.S. only about 40 million people suffer from sleep problems. These problems result in low productivity, cognitive problems, and increased chance of accidents, irritability, and increased risk of disease, premature death and decreased quality of life. Studies show that people who sleep well are not negatively affect the immune system that is responsible for fighting viruses and bacteria that cause our illnesses.

Some researchers have also concluded that sleep acts as an antioxidant by removing what is known as free radicals, ie atoms, usually oxygen, highly reactive and unstable to be released as a product of metabolism and have the ability to damage cells. It is estimated that chronic sleep deprivation may accelerate the aging brain.

The problem of lack of sleep is heightened as a result of technological changes and the world of work that cause many people to work until late at night or on rotating schedules. Our biological characteristics, the product of hundreds of thousands of years of evolution have programmed us to need between nine and ten hours of sleep everyday. In our era of technological changes are occurring at a rate much faster than our biology so we end up doing to our body demands unprepared to assume.

Do you have Insomnia?
Of sleep problems insomnia is probably the most common. There are several types of insomnia. In some cases the person has difficulty falling asleep, in others the person may fall asleep easily but wake several times during the night, and in other cases the problem is that the person wakes up very early. Insomnia may be caused by a variety of factors, which include stress, excessive alcohol or caffeine, and several physiological disorders. Insomnia can be a real problem and often frustrating the efforts we make to sleep only aggravate the situation.

How many hours of sleep we need? The amount that allows us to feel alert during the day. This varies from person to person, but in most cases, between 7 and 9 hours. In a study conducted in the United States late 1997 and early 1998 found that nearly a third of people sleep six or fewer hours per day and over a third said that during the day feel so sleepy that his daily activities are affected.Posted byNatural Home Remediesat11:17 AM

Heart Problems

For good circulation

The body is crisscrossed by an extensive network of vessels that ensure the flow of blood to all organs, so that until the last cell to receive adequate nutrients and oxygen. Like other systems of the body, the circulatory system is susceptible to various diseases. For example, the flow of blood through a vein or artery can be blocked by fatty deposits, or muscle of the walls of a vessel may weaken and hamper the flow.

Regular exercise is the best way to prevent poor circulation. A diet low in saturated fats, such as those present in meat and dairy products also helps preserve the health of blood vessels.

If you have poor circulation, try any of these traditional remedies.

Natural Home Remedies for Corns

For corns between the toes, dab on vitamin E oil and place a clean piece of cotton or a cotton ball over it. Make sure to use 100-percent cotton, not synthetic cosmetic puffs. Put on clean white cotton socks and leave them on overnight after treatment. Vitamin E oil mixed with a crushed garlic clove is good for softening corns and calluses.

Never use a knife or any sharp instrument to cut the hardened area away, as infection can result.

Always wear properly fitting shoes.

CONSIDERATIONS
Compresses made from hot Epsom salts or Foot therapy solution from Para Laboratories/Queen Helene are good.

Medicated pads are available that are supposed to treat corns and calluses. Most of these products are fairly aggressive, however, and may attack good tissue as well, provoking an allergic reaction.

If you suffer from diabetes, you may need to consult a doctor or podiatrist. In people with diabetes, poor circulation can lead to problems with the feet. You should also consult a professional if the area becomes infected.

If the problem is persistent, a physician may suggest an x-ray to rule out an underlying bone spur.

Home Remedies for Fibromyalgia

Fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) is a rheumatic disorder characterized by chronic achy muscular pain that has no obvious physical cause. It most commonly affects the lower back, the neck, the shoulders, the back of the head, the upper chest, and /or the thighs, although any area or areas of the body may be involved. The pain is usually described as burning, throbbing, shooting, and stabbing. The pain and stiffness is often greater in the morning than at other times of day, and it may be accompanied by chronic headaches, strange sensations in the skin, insomnia, irritable bowel syndrome, and temporomandibular joint syndrome (TMJ). Other symptoms often experienced by people with fibromyalgia include premenstrual syndrome, painful periods, anxiety, palpitations, memory impairment, irritable bladder, skin sensitivities, dry eyes and mouth, a need for frequent changes in eyeglass prescription, dizziness, and impaired coordination. Such activities as lifting and climbing stairs are often very difficult and painful.

Depression often accompanies this disorder, and stress may trigger the development of problems similar to those associated with cardiovascular disease and adrenal gland disorders.

Because the immune system is typically compromised in this disorder, opportunistic viral and bacterial infections are common as well.

The most distinctive feature of fibromyalgia, one that differentiates it from similar conditions, is the existence of certain "tender points"—eighteen specific spots where the muscles are abnormally tender to the touch. The eighteen points tend to cluster around the neck, shoulders, chest, knees, elbows region, and hips, and include the following:
• Around the lower vertebra of the neck.
• At the insertion of the second rib.
• Around the upper part of the thigh bone.
• In the middle of the knee joint.
• In muscles connected to the base of the skull.
• In muscles of the neck and upper back.
• In muscles of the mid-back.
• On the side of the elbow.
• In the upper and outer muscles of the buttocks.

RECOMMENDATIONS

Eat a well-balanced diet of 50 percent raw foods and fresh "live" juices. The diet should consist mostly of vegetables, fruits, whole grains (primarily millet and brown rice), raw nuts and seeds, soy products, skinless turkey or chicken, and deep-water fish. These quality foods supply nutrients that renew energy and build immunity.

Include pomegranates and pomegranate juice in your diet. They have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties.

Eat four to five small meals daily to keep a steady supply of protein and carbohydrates available for proper muscle function. If the body does not have enough fuel for energy, it will rob the muscles of essential nutrients, causing muscle wasting and pain.

Drink plenty of liquids to help flush out toxins. The best choices are steam-distilled water and herbal teas. Fresh vegetable juices supply necessary vitamins and minerals.

Limit your consumption of green peppers, eggplant, tomatoes, and white potatoes. These foods contain solanine, which interferes with enzymes in the muscles, and may cause pain and discomfort.

Do not eat meat, dairy products, or any other foods that are high in saturated fats. Saturated fats raise cholesterol levels and interfere with circulation. They also promote the inflammatory response and increase pain. Also avoid fried foods, processed foods, shellfish, dairy foods, and white flour products such as bread and pasta.

Do not consume any caffeine, alcohol, or sugar. Eating sugar in any form—including fructose and honey—promotes fatigue, increases pain, and disturbs sleep. If these substances have been a regular part of your diet, your symptoms may actually get worse for a short period as a result of the "withdrawal" effect, but after that, you should experience a noticeable improvement in your condition.

Avoid wheat and brewer's yeast until your symptoms improve.

Natural Home Remedies for Inflammation

Useful tips to reduce inflammation

Bacterial arthritis, which causes painful inflammation
of the joints, is usually associated with an infection elsewhere in the body, such as in the lungs, kidney, or gallbladder.

The complex sugar beta-1,3-D-glucan (found in the cell walls of baker's yeast, and a variety of fungi, such as maitake and reishi mushrooms) has proven to be a powerful immune booster. When beta-1,3-D-glucan attaches to the receptor site on macrophage cells, these immune cells are activated to attack and destroy invading organisms and reduce infection and inflammation.

The traditional methods for relieving inflammation are positioning the affected part properly (including splinting, if necessary), applying heat and/or ice (heat and cold therapies), taking painkillers along with nutritional supplements, and getting plenty of rest. Nonsteroidal anti- inflammatory drugs (NSAlDs) are prescribed to 70 to 80 million people a year for chronic inflammation.

Home Remedies for eczema

In addition to a very itchy rash and dry skin, eczema is characterized by abnormal changes in the blood vessels of the skin, immunologic abnormalities, and an inherited tendency to be hypersensitive to allergens. These allergens do not even have to directly touch the skin to aggravate eczema. Foods, dust mites, pollens, and animal furs are common culprits.

There are three distinct variants of atopic eczema: an infantile form , a childhood form, and an adolescent or adult form. However, an intensely itching rash is a feature of all of these stages.

The infantile form of eczema develops more commonly in bottle-fed than breast-fed babies, starting as early as two months, and almost always developing by the age of two years. Sixty percent of all eczema dermatitis sufferers develop the rash by the age of one year. Red, extremely itchy, oozing, crusted lesions can involve the face, scalp, neck, and outer aspects of the arms and legs of the infant. This often improves by age five, but asthma or hay fever then develops in more than half of the children.

The childhood form of eczema may follow from the infantile form or arise on its own between the ages of four and ten years. The type and site of the skin rash changes to dry, scaling, thickened, red bumps and patches on the inner folds of wrists, elbows, knees, and neck. The rash often improves with age and disappears by puberty

Many cases of atopic eczema may be due to food sensitivities or allergies. Dairy products such as eggs, milk, butter, cheese, and ice cream head the list of possible allergens. Indeed, many experts consider a child with atopic eczema allergic to dairy products until proved otherwise. Often babies develop eczema as they are weaned from mother's to cow's milk. Breastfeeding for as long as possible, with the mother also avoiding dairy products, can delay or improve a baby's eczema, and is recommended for those with a family history of asthma, hay fever, food allergies, and eczema. A ten-year New Zealand study involving a group of 1,265 children that was published in the October 1990 issue of Pediatrics reported that children who were introduced to four or more types of solid foods before the age of four months were almost three times more likely to develop recurrent eczema than children who did not have any solid feeding until after four months of age. Other very common food allergens in atopic eczema include wheat, sugar, food additives, citrus fruits, tomatoes, yeast-containing foods, and even fish.

Remedies For Insomnia

The most common cause of insomnia is stress, anxiety and depression, environmental and lifestyle factors may also cause insomnia. Some post-menopausal women also experience sleep problems.

The food we eat may also effect how well we sleep. Protein-rich foods like milk, tuna, nuts, wholemeal bread, dates and potatoes are rich in an amino acid tryptophan (chemical messenger in the body), which on reaching to the brain approximately an hour later it releases serotonin (hormone) that helps you relax. Large meals should be avoided at least four hours prior to going to bed and avoid caffeine and nicotine. Drinking alcohol before bed may also lead to problems since once the alcohol is metabolises it disrupts the restorative levels of sleep.

There are some good suggestion of remedies for insomnia whenever you have a sleep problem.

1. Listen to music
Play some soft, soothing music that will lull you to sleep.
2. Get a massage before going to sleep
Get a strokes slow, gentle, yet firm massage to work the tension out of your
muscles and soothe you to sleep.
3. Taking a warm bath
Taking a warm bath is a great way to relax your body and reduce the whole day's
tiredness and after the bath to take a cup of warm milk will help to soothe your
nervous system.

A number of relaxation techniques will help to remedy for insomnia such as meditation, visualisation, autogenic training and gentle exercises such as yoga can be tried to help decrease stress and thus decrease the build up of these stress hormones. Physical exercise raises your core body temperature and increases your adrenaline levels. Exercise should take place in the afternoon or early evening since hormone levels lowers after five or six hours, thus promoting a deep sleep. Exercises right before you go to bed will prevent you from sleeping soundly.

If the above methods do not help to remedy for your insomnia problem, you may have to get doctor's advice.
